I love being by the sea. As we walked along the shore, Shane just wanted to go and explore, but i ended up sitting down and just watching. Watching the lighthouses, the neuclear power plant, people, the stones, digging for shells and admiring the amazing plants and just didn't want to leave!

It's funny, because we're not beach people. We're not the type of people to go on holiday and just lay on a beach all day, but here, there's plenty of things to look at to keep us busy. Where's your happy place? Is there somewhere you always head to, like the sea, the mountains or lakes?

When you can work on the road... 😂 i was busy doing my chalkboard art while Shane was getting caught up on a massive deadline for work and turned around to see this setup once i finished.

One good thing that has come out of coronavirus for me at least is being able to work from home. I've been back to 2 days a week in the office since June, but it's better than 5! I absolutely love being able to work from home now as it was never an option before, but with Shane being a self employed web developer, he's always been able to.

Our first post lockdown trip was to Dungeness Nature Reserve. If you've been following a while, you'll know how much I (April) love a lighthouse (it's my goal in life to visit (or at least see) every one in the UK and as many as i can abroad haha), and the Old Lighthouse at Dungeness is one of my favourites! It's usually open to the public, but is shut this summer due to coronavirus, but don't worry, this was our 3rd time visiting, so we've been up it before!

What else is there to do on a campsite on a rainy day than update your chalkboard?!

When we arrived at the campsite, we realised it hadn't been changed since our trip to Spain in December so we were still greeted with Merry Christmas each time we opened the door! 😂 so while Shane got caught up on work, i decided to do some art and give it a new summer theme. Pretty proud of it if i do say so myself haha!

First time on a proper campsite (in the UK) for 2 years! We stayed at one last year over easter in Wales, but it was just a farmers field where you could park where you liked and was like £4pp. It was so strange to be back at a campsite, and one that we'd previously stayed at when we used to use my parents caravan before we found vanlife.

With the way England is going, it looks like we'll have to start staying at a lot more campsites, which saddens us. We love the freedom of wildcamping - we don't have to rush to be checked in by a certain time, or off the pitch by a certain time. Usually, we're the only ones parked up, and it's just so much more relaxing to us. What are your thoughts on campsites/wildcamping?

We finally got away in the van this weekend to one of our favourite places in the UK and it was so good after 4.5 months of being cooped up in the house, even if it did rain as soon as we arrived at the campsite on Saturday afternoon 😂

Is a van ever finished? We basically had it complete, then during lockdown, Shane decided to move the batteries, move the propex and build some extra storage among a list of other things I've forgotten (it's been a couple months since we last saw it).

What changes have you made to your van after it was "complete" or what changes do you want to make? I'm stillllll wishing Shane would clad over the carpet and ask him about it everytime we do work on the van 😂

This year is just full of surprises! We have a new

This year is just full of surprises! We have a new family member! Meet Oslo! Me and mum have been fostering him and his brothers (and auntie + cousins haha) for the past 10 weeks and today the rest of them are off to their forever homes 😭 luckily we get to keep him, and my mum is keeping his brother Phoenix so we'll still have kittens running around the place. We definitely didn't plan on having any more cats, but then he came into our lives and i just couldn't bear to let him go ❤

Shane and i have debated trying to encourage him to be a van cat! Isla is too scared, Keeko is too independent, but hopefully if we start him young he'll love going on adventures with us! We'll see 😂 do you have a van cat?
